TANZANIA CRITICAL CARE NURSES ASSOCIATION (TCCNA)

About us

The Tanzania Critical Care Nurses Association (TCCNA) is a non-governmental and non-for-profit independent organization, with its headquarters in Dar es Salaam that unites nurses who are specialized and/or working in the critical care settings in Tanzania.

The efforts to form this association began in 2018 through mobilization of nurses who specialized in critical care nursing, most of whom are graduates of the Masters of Science in Critical care Nursing of the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. On 16th December 2020 the association was officially born after registration with the Ministry of Home Affairs (Reg No S.A.21567) under the Societies Act (CAP 337.R.E. 2002).

TCCNA’s vision is to create an avenue for collective efforts of critical care nurses in Tanzania in building holistic, compassionate and dignified evidence-based care that is driven by the needs of critically ill patients and their families, guided by professionalism, ethics and highest standards of evidence on patient care.

TCCNA is also dedicated to representing critical care nurses across the country and improving the quality of care delivered. And in so doing, reduce preventable mortality and disability in Tanzania.

TCCNA Objectives:

In line with the National Health Policy 2020 of the Government of Tanzania:
